Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Naples & Transfer to Amalfi
Your journey begins as you land at Naples Airport, where a private transfer awaits to escort you comfortably along the spectacular coastline toward Amalfi.
As the road winds dramatically above the sea, the first glimpses of pastel villages clinging to the cliffs set the tone for what lies ahead. Lemon groves cascade down terraces, the Mediterranean sparkles below, and every curve reveals postcard-worthy panoramas.
Arriving in Amalfi, you’ll settle into your hotel and immediately feel the relaxed rhythm of the coast. Spend the afternoon wandering through the charming alleys, visiting the impressive Duomo di Amalfi, or simply enjoying an espresso in Piazza Duomo while watching local life unfold.
As evening falls, the golden light softens the coastline. Consider a seaside dinner featuring fresh seafood and local white wine — your first taste of the South’s generosity and warmth.
Day 2 – Private Exploration of Pompeii
Today a private driver at your disposal for the day will accompany you to one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological sites: Pompeii.
With your private guide, step back nearly two thousand years as you explore remarkably preserved streets, villas, temples, and baths. Frescoes still glow with color, mosaics reveal refined artistry, and the ancient forum speaks of a once-thriving city frozen in time.
Your guide will bring daily Roman life vividly to life — from bustling markets to domestic rituals — offering context and insight that transforms ruins into stories.
After the visit, you may choose to stop for lunch overlooking Mount Vesuvius or enjoy a scenic pause along the coast before returning to Amalfi. The contrast between antiquity and the present-day vibrancy of Southern Italy is both moving and unforgettable.
Day 3 – Ferry to Salerno
This morning, board your round-trip ferry from Amalfi to Salerno, enjoying a privileged perspective of the coastline directly from the water.
As Amalfi slowly recedes behind you, admire the vertical villages, hidden coves, and crystalline sea. The journey itself becomes part of the experience.
In Salerno, stroll along the elegant Lungomare promenade, shaded by palm trees and filled with local life. Explore the medieval Duomo di Salerno, wander through the historic center’s artisan shops, or discover hidden gardens like the Minerva Garden.
Enjoy a relaxed lunch in a traditional trattoria before returning by ferry in the late afternoon. The sea breeze and the soft afternoon light make for a magical return to Amalfi.
Day 4 – Capri at Your Own Pace
Another scenic round-trip ferry takes you today to the legendary island of Capri.
Upon arrival, explore the glamorous Piazzetta, browse elegant boutiques, or take a boat tour around the island to admire the iconic Faraglioni rock formations and hidden grottoes.
Nature lovers may choose to hike up to Monte Solaro for breathtaking views, while others may prefer visiting the Gardens of Augustus for panoramic terraces overlooking the sea.
Pause for lunch with a view of turquoise waters and savor local specialties such as Caprese salad or fresh seafood.
Returning to Amalfi in the evening, you’ll carry with you the timeless charm and cinematic beauty that have enchanted visitors for generations.
Day 5 – Flight to Sicily
A private transfer brings you comfortably from your hotel to Naples Airport. After your flight (not included) to Catania, another private transfer will welcome you upon arrival and escort you to your hotel.
Catania greets you with a different atmosphere — vibrant, baroque, and shaped by the presence of Mount Etna. Black lava stone architecture contrasts beautifully with ornate Sicilian balconies.
Spend the afternoon discovering Piazza Duomo, the Elephant Fountain, and the lively Via Etnea. Perhaps enjoy a granita with brioche, a beloved Sicilian ritual.
The evening offers the chance to explore the local fish market area and savor authentic Sicilian cuisine in a traditional trattoria.
Day 6 – Taormina & Etna Wine Experience
Today your private driver for the day accompanies you along the scenic Ionian coast to Taormina.
With included entrance tickets, explore the magnificent Teatro Antico di Taormina, suspended between sea and sky. From its ancient stone tiers, admire one of Sicily’s most iconic panoramas — the coastline below and Mount Etna rising in the distance.
After time to wander through Taormina’s elegant streets, the journey continues toward the slopes of Etna for a truly immersive experience.
Here, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of four Etna wines, paired with a selection of traditional cheeses and artisanal breads made with refined flours and long natural leavening. Walking among the vineyards, you’ll discover how volcanic soil shapes the character of these distinctive wines.
This day beautifully combines history, landscape, and gastronomy — the very essence of Sicily.
Day 7 – Guided Visit of Catania
Today, discover Catania through an included guided tour that reveals its layered identity.
Your guide will introduce you to the city’s baroque treasures, lava-stone palaces, and lively squares shaped by centuries of resilience and creativity.
Explore Piazza Duomo, the Cathedral of Sant’Agata, and stroll along Via Crociferi with its elegant churches. Visit the bustling fish market, where vendors call out their daily catch in an authentic Sicilian atmosphere.
After the tour, enjoy free time to explore museums, relax in a café, or perhaps visit the Monastery of San Nicolò l’Arena.
Catania’s energy is vibrant, warm, and deeply rooted in tradition.
Day 8 – Train to Calabria
This morning, depart from Catania Centrale with your included train ticket toward Villa San Giovanni.
The journey itself is memorable, as the train crosses the Strait of Messina — a fascinating and uniquely Italian experience.
Upon arrival, a private transfer will escort you comfortably to Reggio Calabria.
Settle into your hotel and take a first stroll along the Lungomare Falcomatà, often described as one of Italy’s most beautiful promenades. On clear days, Sicily appears just across the water.
Enjoy dinner featuring Calabrian specialties such as ‘nduja, fresh swordfish, or handmade pasta.
Day 9 – Leisure Day in Reggio Calabria
Today is entirely at your leisure to discover the authentic charm of Reggio Calabria.
Visit the National Archaeological Museum to admire the famous Bronzi di Riace, masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture.
Stroll through Corso Garibaldi for shopping and local cafés, relax along the seaside promenade, or visit Aragonese Castle for panoramic views.
For a deeper exploration, consider a short excursion into the Aspromonte mountains or to nearby Scilla, a picturesque fishing village steeped in myth.
This slower day allows you to truly absorb Calabria’s atmosphere — genuine, warm, and refreshingly unhurried.
Day 10 – Departure
A private transfer accompanies you from Reggio Calabria to Catania Airport for your return flight.
As you travel along the coastline one last time, reflect on the diversity of landscapes and experiences encountered — from ancient Roman streets to volcanic vineyards, from cliffside villages to sunlit promenades.
This journey through Southern Italy leaves you with vivid memories of sea, history, flavors, and light — a mosaic of places and emotions that will linger long after your return home.
