Day by Day Itinerary

DAY 1 – Orvieto | Arrival Above the Cliffs

Your journey begins as you leave behind the rhythm of Rome and move north into a quieter, more contemplative Italy. Orvieto appears almost suddenly — a dramatic plateau of golden tuff stone rising sheer above the valley, as if suspended between earth and sky.

This is a place shaped by layers of civilization: Etruscan caves hidden beneath your feet, medieval streets winding like a labyrinth, and Renaissance palaces catching the warm afternoon light. Every corner feels intentional, every stone part of a much older story.

Settle into a refined historic residence tucked within the old town, where time seems to slow naturally.

In the evening, step into a noble palace for your first immersion into Umbrian culture. Dinner is not simply a meal, but a narrative — a sequence of flavors rooted in land and tradition, each course paired with regional wines that speak of volcanic soil and centuries of craftsmanship.

Overnight in Orvieto.

DAY 2 – Orvieto | Cathedral, Silence & Living Landscapes

Orvieto reveals itself gradually. With your private guide, you’ll enter the Duomo — a façade that feels almost unreal in its richness, shimmering with mosaics that catch the light. Inside, the space opens into something more intimate and profound, where art and faith merge in deeply human storytelling.

Beyond the cathedral, the town invites you to wander: narrow streets, artisan workshops, quiet piazzas where life unfolds without urgency.

The experience shifts in the afternoon, as you move into the countryside. Rolling vineyards replace stone walls, and the horizon widens. Here, wine is not just produced — it is lived. During your tasting, you’ll begin to recognize the identity of this land in each glass.

The picnic that follows is intentionally simple, yet deeply evocative: local products, open air, and that particular Umbrian silence that feels almost tangible.

Overnight in Orvieto.

DAY 3 – Orvieto | Hidden Worlds & Visionary Minds

Today moves between imagination and archaeology.

La Scarzuola is not something easily defined. Conceived by architect Tomaso Buzzi, it is a surreal, symbolic city — part theatre, part philosophical manifesto. Stairs leading nowhere, disproportionate architectures, and esoteric references create a place that challenges logic and invites interpretation. Often compared to Bomarzo, yet far more introspective.

Back in Orvieto, you descend — literally — into its hidden dimension. The underground city reveals a completely different narrative: wells carved by hand, tunnels stretching into darkness, traces of Etruscan ingenuity that still shape the city above.

The day closes with an aperitivo in these subterranean spaces. Candlelight, stone, and silence create an atmosphere that feels suspended in time — intimate, almost secret.

Overnight in Orvieto.

DAY 4 – Perugia | Power, Art & Indulgence

Perugia greets you with a different energy — more urban, more layered, historically a center of power and intellect.

Walking through its historic core means moving across centuries: fortified streets, hidden passages carved into rock, and grand halls that once defined the political life of Umbria. Inside the Palazzo dei Priori and the National Gallery, art becomes a language of prestige and devotion.

Then, a shift in tone — from art to indulgence.

Perugia is also Italy’s chocolate capital, and this part of the day is dedicated to that identity. Craftsmanship, precision, and creativity come together in a sensory experience that goes far beyond tasting.

Your accommodation elevates the experience further: a castle residence overlooking the Umbrian valleys. More than a place to stay, it is a vantage point suspended over the landscape, where medieval architecture meets refined comfort, and every view feels cinematic.

Overnight in Perugia area.

DAY 5 – Gubbio | Rituals, Stone & Tradition

The morning begins in the forests and rolling hills of the Altotiberina — a landscape that hides one of Italy’s most prized treasures: the truffle. This is a ritual guided by those who know the land intimately, alongside trained dogs capable of revealing what remains invisible.

Lunch follows naturally, centered around what has just been found — a direct expression of territory and seasonality.

In the afternoon, Gubbio rises before you in austere elegance. Built entirely in stone, it feels almost untouched, suspended in its medieval identity.

This is the town of the Corsa dei Ceri, one of Italy’s oldest and most intense traditional festivals, where towering wooden structures are carried through the streets in a ritual that blends devotion, competition, and collective memory.

The ascent by cable car adds a final perspective — slow, panoramic, almost meditative — revealing the full geometry of the town and the vastness beyond.

Overnight in Perugia area.

DAY 6 – Assisi | Light, Faith & Artistic Revolution

Assisi is not simply visited — it is felt.

The Basilica of Saint Francis is one of the defining spaces of Western art. Here, Giotto revolutionized painting, introducing emotion, realism, and narrative depth. Faces express, bodies interact — stories become human.

Walking through the basilica becomes an immersion into a pivotal moment in art history.

The afternoon introduces a striking contrast. The Cosmic Magnetism installation creates a dialogue between contemporary art and sacred space, minimal yet powerful, inviting reflection in an unexpected way.

As the day softens, the experience returns to the land. A vineyard at sunset, a quiet picnic, golden light stretching across the hills — a moment of pure balance.

Overnight in Perugia area.

DAY 7 – Lake Trasimeno | Stillness & Subtle Beauty

Lake Trasimeno does not impress with grandeur — it captivates through restraint.

Wide horizons, soft reflections, and an almost suspended stillness define this landscape. On the water, everything slows down. Your private boat experience becomes a space of freedom, shaped around food, tradition, and simple pleasures.

This is Umbria at its most intimate.

Your lakeside retreat reflects this philosophy: understated elegance, silence, and direct connection with nature, where luxury is defined by space and calm rather than excess.

Overnight at Lake Trasimeno.

DAY 8 – Deruta | Gesture, Fire & Craftsmanship

Deruta tells a different story — one of hands, fire, and continuity.

For centuries, this town has been synonymous with ceramics. Inside a workshop, you witness gestures repeated over generations, techniques preserved and refined without losing their authenticity.

Each piece carries time within it.

The journey concludes by the lake, with a final dinner where cuisine becomes memory. Refined flavors, still water, and soft evening light create an atmosphere that lingers long after the experience ends.

Overnight at Lake Trasimeno.
